Succession Planning-Moving Up or Moving On
Most people don't think that they need to worry about a succession plan, because those are only for senior leaders, executives, or owners. But the truth is we all need some sort of succession plan! Having a plan for allowing someone else to step into your current role allows you to not get trapped by becoming "irreplaceable"! You should be thinking about building a succession plan if you:
- have a formal leadership role in your company
- are learning new skills and developing yourself
- don't have a crystal ball and can't predict the future
- are wanting a promotion
- enjoy knowing that things are being taken care of well, even when you are taking time off
